Later, when consumers purchase a car, they will see the actual fuel consumption data attached to the car. Whether a car is fuel-efficient or fuel-consuming, the logo will be clear at a glance. Yesterday, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology promulgated the “Regulations for the Administration of Fuel Consumption of Light Vehicles”, which clearly stipulates the detection and filing, registration, marking, publication, and supervision and punishment of fuel consumption of automobiles.

The regulations are for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with a total mass of under 3.5 tons, including domestic and imported models. When these models are sold, they must affix “Car Fuel Consumption Labeling” and indicate the fuel consumption of the urban areas, suburban areas, and comprehensive conditions measured in accordance with national uniform standards. The regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2010.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, at present, many countries and regions in the world have implemented different types of vehicle fuel consumption labeling systems in accordance with their respective national conditions as a control vehicle.

One of the pillars of CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. Through the establishment of the system, consumers will be guided to purchase low-fuel-consumption and energy-saving vehicles, and automobile manufacturers will be encouraged to develop more energy-efficient vehicles. The relevant person of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology told reporters that the “Car Fuel Consumption Logo” that is uniformly pasted will include such items as the company logo, fuel consumption, activation date, and filing number. The logo should be affixed to the vehicle's interior side windows or windshields and other improper driving. The visual field constitutes a significant part of the influence.

Professor Pu Chengcheng of the Department of Automotive Engineering at Tsinghua University said: "The regulations will make the fuel consumption release more standardized, and the car owners do not need to ask about the real fuel consumption of a car." At present, the reference to the purchase of cars is generally the theoretical fuel consumption announced by the manufacturers, and actual Fuel consumption tends to vary. After the fuel consumption labeling management, the vehicle fuel consumption is no longer given by the manufacturer unilaterally, and the standard will be standardized and well documented.
