Trowa Barton shared the following details and photos taken from his cell phone. These images capture the scene of a fire at Willow Lakes Apartments. Several units responded to the incident, including Engines 25, 26, and 27, Tower 30, Snorkel 31, Squad 38, Medics 21 and 22, and Chiefs 01, 02, 03, and 04. York Center 77 was also present on the scene. It looked like Medic 22 evacuated a small family—maybe two or three people—to the hospital. The event took place around 9:30 PM on November 5th, 2010. The photos show the Glen Ellyn Fire Department's Snorkel 31, Engine, and Tower 30 responding to the emergency. The images provide a glimpse into the quick response and coordination during the fire. It’s always impressive to see how quickly these crews can mobilize and work together under pressure. The fire must have been quite serious to require so many units. I’m glad the crew was able to handle it efficiently and that no one was seriously injured. These kinds of events remind us of the dedication and professionalism of our local firefighters.
