Recently, the CSIC Jiujiang Technology R&D Center delivered the “Dr. Hai†ballast water management system specially designed for the “Exploration No.1†scientific research ship reconstruction project of the Sanya Deep Sea Science and Engineering Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to China Shipbuilding Chengxi Guangzhou.
It is reported that the "Exploration No. 1" scientific research ship is China's first 4,500-meter manned submersible working mother ship and the deep-sea scientific test general-purpose test platform, which is currently undergoing renovation in Chengxi, Guangzhou. The renovation will complete the project of lengthening the main hull, rebuilding the living area, renovating a large number of cabins, and installing and commissioning new equipment. All the renovation designs have taken into account factors such as green, environmental protection and energy conservation.
"Dr. Hai" ballast water management system provides professional customized design services for the special requirements of "Exploration No. 1", and utilizes the most compact design and ingenious in the case of limited space of the modified ship. The cabin layout provides a flexible and convenient installation.
The “Exploration No.1†completed by the transformation will effectively support the manned submersibles to carry out deep-sea scientific investigations and deep-sea equipment technical test verification, etc., and further strengthen China's advantages in the scientific application and technology of manned deep dive.
