Wärtsilä's X92 low-speed diesel engine will power a new container ship from CMA CGM. It is reported that the transportation capacity of this new type of container ship exceeds 20,000 TEU . This engine is the largest and latest in the Wärtsilä X- Series engine and will be supplied by Winterthur GD (WinGD) , a joint venture between Wärtsilä and CSSC, which is responsible for Wärtsilä's low-speed machine business. CMA CGM’s container ship will use an 11- cylinder version of the 92- cm bore engine.

Ship 200,000 DWT new ship Hanjin Heavy Industries of the Philippines (HHIC) to build, will be put into service in the fourth quarter 2017, will become the largest ship of the ship team. It is reported that Wärtsilä has completed the X92 machine factory test at its Ulsan engine plant of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and the remaining type approval tests and sea trials will be completed in the second half of this year. After all the above tests, WinGD will increase the number of deliveries for this model. The first four deliveries will be the 8- cylinder version W-X92 for a series of four 9000 teu rear Panamax container ships, the owner of which is Turkey's Ciner Shipping Industry & Trading .
