This report comes from Mike Lopina: Members from the Northwest Homer Fire District responded to a working house fire early Thursday morning around 0630 at 16307 W 146th Pl in Lockport Heights. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor and in the rear of the home. Auto aid units brought a Lockport engine and a Lemont tower ladder, while the full alarm response included engines from Orland and Homer, ambulances from Plainfield and Mokena, and a Lemont Battalion Chief. Two fire lines were stretched on the main structure, and the tower ladder worked the roof and eaves to prevent fire spread.
