FAW Toyota's cumulative output exceeds 2 million units

On September 1, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. achieved a cumulative engine output of more than 2 million units.

In 1996, Tianjin Automobile Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor Corporation jointly established Tianjin Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., becoming Toyota's first engine production base in China. The company began producing A-type engines in 1998. After the full cooperation between FAW and Toyota in 2003, Tianjin Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. was renamed as Tianjin FAW Toyota Engine Co., Ltd., and it celebrated the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the company on May 16 this year.

According to relevant information, the shareholder's contribution ratio of Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is: FAW 50% and Toyota 50%; the chairman of the board of directors is Jin Yi, who was dispatched by FAW, and the general manager is Watanabe Cheng sent by Toyota. The joint venture company currently has the first factory (head office) and the second factory in the Yangliuqing and Tianjin TEDA Economic Development Zones in Xiqing District, Tianjin, with an annual output of 159,000 units and 216,000 units respectively. The factory mainly produces ZR engines. The models are VIOS Vios, COROLLAEX Corolla and COROLLA Corolla produced by Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.; A-type modified engines (based on A-type engines, modified by Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Co., Ltd. Engine).
