How to use transmission oil correctly

Check the amount of automatic transmission fluid

Please check the automatic transmission fluid level regularly.
The amount of automatic transmission fluid will change due to temperature. Although the optimal timing for checking the automatic transmission fluid is 30 minutes after the vehicle is driven, it can also be checked after warming up according to the following procedure.
1 If the transmission fluid level is too low, it will cause slip; too high will produce foam, oil loss and automatic transmission failure.
2 Use of non-specified oil may cause malfunction and damage to the automatic transmission.
In order to avoid sudden movement of the vehicle, the parking brake should be pulled down and the brake pedal pressed before shifting.

1 Park the car on a flat surface and pull on the parking brake.
2 Idle the vehicle for 2 minutes.
3 Depress the brake pedal and slowly slide the stopper bar past all gears and place it in the P position.
4 When the engine is idling, remove the ruler, wipe it clean, and then put it back in again.
5 Pull out the ruler again to check the liquid level.
If the oil temperature has reached the normal operating temperature (about 75 degrees). The liquid level should be between two nodes at 75 degrees.
The 25 degree node is only used as a reference. It cannot be used as a point that determines the height of the liquid surface.
The new automatic transmission fluid should be red to distinguish it from engine oil and antifreeze. The red colorant is not a mark for the quality of the transmission fluid and will lighten over time. When the vehicle is moving, the color of the automatic transmission fluid darkens. The color will eventually become light brown. Therefore, according to the table earlier in this chapter, you should regularly change the automatic transmission fluid to the Dongfeng Yueda Kia service shop.
