In response to the fierce market demand of the recent bulk carriers, CSIC Ship Design and Research Center Co., Ltd. recently optimized the development of a 18.2 million DWT bulk carrier. This is the successful development of the civil ship center following the implementation of the common standard of 180,000 DWT. The cargo ship also supported another bulk carrier developed by the shipyard after undertaking several orders for the type of ship. At present, the model has completed the project demonstration and quotation design, and the linear optimization and corresponding ship model tests have also been completed.
The 18.2 million DWT bulk carrier is a new ship type optimized for the larger tonnage of the Capesize bulk carrier on the basis of the 180,000 DWT bulk carrier. It has increased the structural draught and optimized the system configuration. Its technical indicators Economic, safety and environmental performance are better, and the market prospect is broad. At this point, the Civil Ship Center has fully mastered the core technologies of designing new bulk carriers for the latest international norms, conventions and rules applicable to CSR, and has a flexible type, Panama type to a new type of super Panamax, handy type and large Capesize.
