China Automobile Association Recommends Commercial Vehicle Stimulus Policy

Compared with passenger vehicles, the performance of the commercial vehicle market is still very sluggish. In the first four months, production and sales fell by 1.4% and 3.9% respectively compared with the same period of the previous year. Excluding the increase of 17.11% for trucks, other models all showed declines in different degrees.

From January to April, the number of passenger cars in commercial vehicles decreased by 9.22% year-on-year, that of semitrailer tractors decreased by 73.51%, that of non-integrated passenger cars by 38.38%, and that of non-integrated trucks by 17.71%.

The implementation of the National 3 Standard last year led to the advance consumption of the commercial vehicle market, overdraft demand for this year. In April, the overall growth of commercial vehicles was 1.38 percent year-on-year. The decline of each model has narrowed. As for the future trend of commercial vehicles, Xiong Chuanlin said, “I think it will be better.” He believes that the benefits of the 4 trillion investment in the country are not yet obvious. With the implementation of construction projects, the amount of power generation will also increase. Car sales will also increase.

Industry analysts believe that the previous government has introduced the purchase tax policy, and the demand for the car will recover in 2009 under the stimulus of the policy. Follow-up there are still relevant policies to stimulate the demand for cars.

At this year's Shanghai Auto Show, Miao Miao, Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that “In the future, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will pay close attention to the implementation of various policies and make necessary adjustments in real time according to market conditions to ensure that the industry gradually recovers. If this demand is released, then The downturn in the market does not rule out further measures; if the market performs well, there is no need to introduce measures." It can be seen from this that the government is determined to stabilize the auto market demand.

When interviewed by this reporter, Dong Yang admitted that for the vehicles with poor sales, including commercial vehicles, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers did make recommendations to the higher authorities, hoping to take measures from various aspects, including adjustment of purchase tax, etc. .
