Kumho tires are of outstanding quality and confidently challenge "Extreme Motorsports"

On January 6, 2009, Kumho Tire officially announced its participation in the Dakar Rally, one of the most extreme motorsport events in the world, by supplying tire products to the British Bole Team’s NEMESIS vehicle. This modified Land Rover Range Rover Sport Edition was specifically designed for the challenges of the Dakar Rally, a race known for its brutal terrain and high level of difficulty. The 2009 Dakar Rally began and ended in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the route passing through Chile. The event ran from January 3 to January 18, spanning 15 days and covering a total distance of 9,574 kilometers. Over 530 teams competed in this grueling race, which is often referred to as "Dancing with Death" due to its dangerous nature and high risk for participants. In the previous year, the rally had to be canceled just before it started due to security concerns in Lisbon, Portugal. As the first major motorsport event of 2009, the Dakar Rally captured global attention and excitement. Kumho Tire provided the ROAD VENTURE model for the competition, a tire engineered to deliver top performance on various surfaces including dry and wet roads, sand dunes, and muddy trails. The brand expressed full confidence in the quality and performance of ROAD VENTURE, believing it would give the Bole Team a competitive edge. The British BBC had previously covered the ROAD VENTURE model, and it had already gained recognition in other rallies around the world. Before entering the Dakar Rally, Kumho Tire had already made a name for itself in international off-road racing. In cross-country rallies in 1992 and 2000, the company successfully completed over 10,000 kilometers of challenging races, achieving impressive results. In 2007, Kumho partnered with the French SMG team and won the prestigious SOLO CLASS championship. “The tires used in the Dakar Rally represent a significant milestone for Kumho Tire,” said an official. “They are the first 18-inch Dakar-specific tires developed based on our extensive technical experience in the sport. This achievement will further enhance our global competitiveness.”
