The Shanghai Maritime Technology Exchange Conference and Exhibition (Marintec 2007), organized by the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, recently kicked off at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. The CW200 model, backed by Weichai’s strong foundation in independent innovation, reliability, and military-grade engineering, captured the interest of numerous shipbuilders, designers, and industry professionals from around the world. The event itself attracted participants from 17 countries, including China, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the UK, and more, with over 30 nations represented. More than 1,100 exhibitors showcased their latest technologies and products.
International classification societies such as GL, BV, and ABS were present, along with leading power brands like Mann, Wartsila, Caterpillar, MTU, and Yanmar. The exhibition provided a valuable platform for global maritime industries to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new opportunities.
Over 1,500 business professionals from 22 countries and regions, including the U.S., UK, Russia, Vietnam, Singapore, Turkey, Greece, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, and Australia, visited Weichai’s booth. Their engagement reflected the company’s strong brand reputation and its increasing influence in the international maritime sector. This event not only demonstrated technological advancements but also reinforced China’s role as a key player in the global shipping and marine industry.
