Reviving a Bridge with HJ3’s Concrete Pile Repair and Strengthening
In a complex and critical bridge restoration project, HJ3 Composite Technologies was tasked with repairing and strengthening a vital structure that featured 93 concrete piles and two reinforced trusses requiring urgent attention. Working in challenging conditions, the team successfully addressed the structural needs of the bridge, which extended 10 feet above and 5 feet below the waterline.

HJ3 assembled a specialized team of certified installers to handle both the above-water and underwater sections of the project. The process began with the careful removal of deteriorated concrete, followed by thorough cleaning of the piles and trusses. A dual-phase approach was used to ensure the entire structure was strengthened, from the surface down to the submerged areas.
Using HJ3's advanced carbon fiber and CFRP materials, the bridge received a powerful reinforcement solution. For the parts exposed above water, an additional UV and pH-resistant coating was applied over the carbon fiber, offering long-term protection against environmental damage.
