Electric vs. hydrogen: 4 EV experts predict the future of mobility

Prediction One: The Dominance of Battery Electric Vehicles

Michael Hajesch, CEO of Ionity, a Munich-based company operating over 400 charging stations powered entirely by renewable energy, firmly believes in the future of battery electric vehicles. He noted, “The future is clearly battery electric. Just look at the rapid growth in EV models available—over 200 options on the European market today. Investments in both infrastructure and the entire EV ecosystem are skyrocketing. This isn’t a distant vision for 2050; we’re talking about 2025 to 2030. Battery electric vehicles are here to stay.”

Prediction Two: A Hybrid Future

Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, Secretary General of Hydrogen Europe, emphasized the importance of collaboration rather than competition between battery EVs and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. “The future won’t be dominated by just one technology,” he explained. “Each has its niche. For example, hydrogen is ideal for heavy-duty applications like trucks due to its superior energy density compared to batteries. Meanwhile, battery EVs excel in urban environments. Combining both technologies will maximize system efficiency and contribute to achieving climate goals.”

Prediction Three: EVs Will Thrive on Clean Energy

Mathieu Bonnet, CEO of Allego, a provider of charging solutions across Europe, highlighted the significance of clean energy in shaping the future of mobility. “Electricity and hydrogen both have the potential to deliver sustainable energy solutions,” he stated. “But it’s essential to optimize various modes of transport, from personal cars to public transit. Autonomous vehicles and digitalization will play pivotal roles in improving efficiency. While the specifics remain unclear, it’s evident that battery electric vehicles will continue to thrive as clean energy becomes more accessible.”

Prediction Four: Solar-Powered EVs Take the Lead

Michiel Langezaal, CEO of Fastned, underscored the environmental advantages of battery electric vehicles powered by renewable energy. “From a climate perspective, electric vehicles are the most efficient option. A solar panel generates electricity directly connected to an EV, allowing every kWh of solar energy to extend the vehicle’s range significantly. Comparatively, hydrogen systems involve multiple energy losses during production, compression, and conversion back into electricity. Given the current state of technology, going fully electric is the logical choice to address climate change and energy transition challenges.”

Which Side Are You On?

While the majority of panelists leaned toward battery electric vehicles, there was consensus that hydrogen will play a complementary role in specific scenarios. The future, therefore, seems to lie in a balanced approach, combining the strengths of both technologies. For deeper insights into this evolving landscape, tune in to REVOLUTION Digital #3. Set for December 8, this double-edition event will explore mobility trends in Europe and North America, focusing on sustainable transportation strategies. Easter Decoration

Easter is a festival full of joy and hope. People will decorate houses and public places with various decorations to create a strong festive atmosphere.

First of all, Easter eggs are one of the indispensable decorations. We use dyes of various colors to paint eggs with bright colors, or paint elaborate patterns on the shells to make them little works of art. These eggs can be placed on the dining table or hung on the Easter tree, bringing joy and surprise to people.

In addition, Easter wreaths are also a common decoration. People will use flowers, eggs, ribbons and other materials to make garlands, and then hang them on the door or on the wall to bring welcome and blessing to people. The flowers on the wreath can be tulips, lilies and other spring flowers. They are colorful and fragrant, bringing people a sense of joy and comfort.

Finally, Easter lights are also a common way to decorate. People will use materials such as eggs, colored ribbons, and light bulbs to make various lighting decorations, such as egg strings, rabbit lights, etc. These lights can be hung on windows, walls or trees, bringing a warm and lively atmosphere to the night.

All in all, we offer a variety of Easter decorations that bring joy and surprise to people. Whether it is flowers, eggs, bunnies or lighting, they all imply hope, new life and happiness, making people feel the breath of spring and vitality in this special festival.
