The Glenview Fire Department has officially vacated Station 6 located at 1815 Glenview Road. As previously reported here, the building is set to be demolished as part of the ongoing redevelopment of downtown Glenview. In the meantime, the headquarters staff and offices have temporarily relocated to the police station, while the firefighting units have been redistributed:
- Battalion 6 is currently operating out of Station 14.
- Ambulance 6 is stationed at Station 13.
- Engine 6 has taken up residence in a temporary setup on the park district property along Glenview Road.

The following images showcase the living quarters and apparatus bay established on the park district site. For those who remember the original station, you’ll notice that certain sentimental items, such as a memorial marker and a bench with a bell, have been carefully removed to be stored safely until the new facility is constructed. These elements hold significant historical value for the department and its community ties.
It's quite a change to see the familiar station go dark, but it's all part of progress. The firefighters and support staff are managing the transition with their usual professionalism, ensuring that the vital services provided by the Glenview Fire Department remain uninterrupted during this period of change.
While we look forward to the new facilities, these temporary arrangements remind us of the resilience and adaptability of our local emergency responders. It’s a testament to their dedication that they can continue to serve the community even under these challenging circumstances.
