Interestingly, Truck 18 was running with a lettered spare vehicle, which turned out to be a well-maintained Pierce model—quite impressive for a backup rig.
I didn’t have much time to hang around, so I quickly snapped some photos before heading out. One shot captured Squad 5’s Snorkel parked in the vacant lot next to the burning building. Another showed Truck 51’s crimson aerial ladder taking the lead at the front of the structure. Engine 84 was positioned next door, connected to a hydrant to supply water for the firefighting efforts.
Inside, firefighters were busy tackling hot spots on the second floor and conducting overhaul operations. Engine 50 arrived as the second engine on the scene, adding more resources to the operation. From the rear, Truck 51 looked impressive with its reflective striping and jack spread configuration. It was a chaotic yet organized scene, showcasing the professionalism of the firefighters who were working hard to control the blaze.
Overall, it was fascinating to witness how quickly the department responded and mobilized resources to handle the situation.
