Bus fire early warning and automatic fire extinguishing system research start

The Ministry of Public Security’s Tianjin Fire Research Institute reported that on October 28, 2011, the Ministry of Public Security’s application innovation project “Study on Early Warning and Automatic Fire Extinguishing System for Bus Fire” was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The meeting introduced, discussed and arranged the four agendas of the project's source and background of the "Passenger Vehicle Fire Early Warning and Automatic Fire Extinguishing System Study", the locations and causes of the bus fires, how to carry out the project work, and the project task division. A number of topics such as the study scope, selection of parameters, work progress, and follow-up project review were discussed.

At the meeting, Yang Zhenming, a researcher from the Tianjin Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security issued an important speech on the project's launch, fully affirming the feasibility and necessity of the project and wishing the project a complete success. General Manager Hong Weiyi introduced the general situation of domestic and foreign bus fires in recent years. Dr. Du Jianhua introduced the preliminary research and research work of the subject. Dr. Wei Zhou raised the issue of the accuracy of the selection of “early warning and fire fighting parameters” and the relative independence of the early warning system. Other members of the expert group also provided valuable opinions and suggestions to further clarify the direction and tasks of the project study.
